    How We Use Cookies

    SCN System Cookie Policy

    Last Updated: January 2025

    Introduction
This Cookie Policy explains how SCN System ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and mobile applications. By using our services, you consent to the use of cookies as described in this policy.

    What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, smartphone, or tablet) when you visit a website or use an application. They help websites recognize your device and store information about your preferences or past actions.

    Types of Cookies We Use
We use the following categories of cookies:

    1. Essential Cookies (Strictly Necessary)

These cookies are necessary for our website and services to function properly. They enable core functionality such as:

    • User authentication and security
    • Session management
    • Load balancing
    • Fraud prevention
    • Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Duration: Session or up to 30 days
Can be disabled: No (required for service operation)

    2. Functionality Cookies (Preference)

These cookies allow us to remember your preferences and provide enhanced features:

    • Language preferences
    • Display settings (theme, layout)
    • User interface customization
    • Remember your login credentials (if chosen)
    • Social media profile visibility settings

    Duration: Up to 1 year
Can be disabled: Yes (may affect user experience)

    3. Analytics and Advertising Cookies

We do not use any. SCN runs no analytics, tracking, advertising, or remarketing scripts, and sets no cookies for those purposes. We do not build usage profiles of visitors, and we do not sell or share browsing data with advertisers.

If this changes, we will update this policy before the change takes effect.

    Specific Cookies We Use
Below are examples of specific cookies deployed on our platform:

    First-Party vs. Third-Party Cookies

    • First-Party Cookies: Set directly by SCN System, for signing in and keeping you signed in (see the table above).
    • Third-Party Cookies: Set by services we integrate with when you use them — social platforms during account linking, and our payment processors during checkout. We set no third-party analytics or advertising cookies.

    Third-Party Cookies
We may also use third-party services that set their own cookies:

    Facebook Login_fbp, fr, sbSocial authenticationView
    LinkedIn OAuthlidc, lang, bcookieSocial authenticationView

These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies, which we recommend you review. We do not control third-party cookies and are not responsible for their privacy practices.

    Mobile Application Cookie-Equivalent Storage
In our mobile applications, when you access web content through embedded browsers (WebViews), cookies function the same as in regular web browsers. Additionally, we use local storage that serves similar purposes to cookies:

    • WebView Cookies: When using embedded web features in the app, standard web cookies are set including mobile_auth_token for authentication
    • Local Storage (Cookie-equivalent): User preferences and settings stored locally on your device (similar to functional cookies)
    • Cache Storage (Cookie-equivalent): Temporary data for performance and offline access (similar to performance cookies)

These mobile storage mechanisms serve the same purposes as cookies described in this policy and can be managed through your device settings or app settings.

    How to Manage Cookies
You have several options to control and manage cookies:

    Browser Settings:

    • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
    • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
    • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
    • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies

    Mobile App Cookie Management:

    • iOS App:
      • Device Settings → Safari → Clear History and Website Data (clears WebView cookies)
      • App Settings → Clear App Data (clears local cookie-equivalent storage)
    • Android App:

Note: Clearing cookies in the mobile app will log you out and reset your preferences.

    Cookie Preference Center:

You can manage your cookie preferences through your account settings in both our web and mobile applications. We provide granular controls for different cookie categories including the ability to enable/disable non-essential cookies.

    Impact of Disabling Cookies
If you disable certain cookies, you may experience limited functionality:

    • Essential Cookies: Disabling these will prevent you from logging in and accessing core features
    • Functional Cookies: You may need to re-enter preferences each time you visit

    Cookie Data Retention
Cookie data is retained as follows:

    • Session Cookies: Automatically deleted when you close your browser or app
    • Persistent Cookies: Remain on your device for the duration specified in the cookies table above
    • Deleted Account: All cookies are immediately invalidated when you delete your account
    • Cookie Expiration: Cookies automatically expire after their specified duration and are removed by your browser
    • Manual Deletion: You can delete cookies at any time using the methods described in the "How to Manage Cookies" section

    Data Protection and Privacy
Cookie data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable data protection laws including:

    • GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation) - European Union
    • CCPA (California Consumer Privacy Act) - California, USA
    • PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) - Canada

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect cookie data from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

    Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through cookies or any other means. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

    International Data Transfers
Some cookies may involve data transfers to countries outside your region. When this occurs:

    • We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, etc.)
    • Third-party services we use comply with international data protection standards
    • Cookie data transferred internationally receives the same level of protection as required by applicable laws
    • You can contact us for more information about specific data transfer mechanisms for cookies

    Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers support a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals websites you do not want to be tracked. We respect DNT signals and will not track users who have DNT enabled in their browsers for non-essential cookies.

We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. We will notify you of significant changes by:
